Job Description:

To directly supervise morning, mid-watch and night security shifts, and ensure the overall security and protection of hotel guests and associates, and their property, as well as hotel assets. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION Conduct Pre-shift/Stand-up meetings so the LPOs are fully informed of all relevant activities in the hotel and surrounding property. Promptly greet and welcome every Guest they come in contact with demonstrating a friendly manner, using the 15/5 Rule. Directly supervise Loss Prevention officers. Work closely with Front Office Manager and staff, keeping them well informed of activities throughout the hotel. Maintain shift security staff in a high state of readiness, so they are able to react in any way deemed necessary. Re-key master keys for guest rooms as necessary and make replacement master keys for damaged ones. Issue keys and radios to authorized personnel and maintain written logs for the issue and return of these items. Monitor CCTV and all alarm systems. Report all violations of hotel and company policy to MOD, or Department Head. Perform all the same functions, responsibilities and duties as the Loss Prevention Officer. Directly supervise shift activity, including reports and incidents, investigations, patrolling, dispatching, Activity Log, etc. Meet with Manager daily to discuss the activities of the previous day and formulate plans for the activities of the upcoming day. Conduct daily inspections of all Loss Prevention areas, noting discrepancies or deficiencies regarding materials, equipment and cleanliness. Read and approve all reports before submitting. If any errors are found, review and critique with the reporting officer. Respond to all fire, burglar and hold-up alarms, taking proper action. Re-train staff members on a continuing basis. Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification and perform when necessary. Inventory all Loss Prevention supplies weekly and send requisitions for needed supplies to Manager. Ensure adequate staffing for all shifts, covering any call-offs with replacement staff. Maintain high level of accident-prevention awareness among the staff. Assist in completing LPO staff member's Performance Appraisals and Rap Sessions. Maintain positive work environment while developing, maintaining and improving on teamwork atmosphere within all departments of the hotel. QUALIFICATIONS Excellent communication and organizational skills. Good, aggressive hospitality skills. Ability to exercise good/reasonable judgment. Excellent telephone etiquette. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping and upward reaching. Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
