A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE CONTROLS TECHNICIAN-MANUFACTURING IN LUMBERTON, MSPOSITION EXPECTATIONS:Participate in a continuous process improvement cultureCollaborate with others to identify and formulate alternative solutionsNavigate changes, delays or unexpected events in the work environmentSynthesize and analyze information to create action plansHave an appetite for continuous learningMake timely decisions and with reasoning for decisionsSolve daily operational problems and interpret instructionsFocus on quality control and executionDevelop, communicate and implement safety, environmental and quality goals and business objectivesDiagnose causes of malfunctionsDemonstrate excellent communication skills ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Install and maintain electrical systems and components throughout the mill and ensure optimal working order.Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAsDesign and/or manage the controls and automation portions of capital and maintenance projectsOversee new scanning and data collection installationsContinue conversion from ControlNet to EthernetDesign HMI and Panel-View screens to increase operator awareness and ease of troubleshootingProgram reader boardsProvide backup support for ITMaintain intranet and act as communication liaison to all plant personnel and vendorsWork with management to establish and maintain a robust, viable, long- term automation planInstallation, repair and maintenance of electrical componentsDiagnose causes of malfunctionsContinually work on preventative maintenanceEnsure inventory of critical spare partsWork with, assist and train electricians in controls, automation, networks, etc.Consistently keep a production level work paceTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:Preferred Experience in: Rockwell Automation SoftwareControlLogix Processors, CompactLogix Processors Powerflex 525, and 750 Series Drives Ethernet/IP and General Networking Delta RMC Motion Controllers Ignition HMI SoftwarePanelviewFactory TalkEDUCATION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma or GED-(Advanced Education, Training and/or Certifications Preferred.Industrial Manufacturing-MUST HAVEA Journeyman Electrician License preferredAt least one required: PRCC Pine Belt Certification or WorkKeys Test (Silver or Better) or 3+ years of manufacturing experienceOwn toolsValid Driver's License is required for business travelAbility to work at varying heightsSpecific job duties and shifts may vary based on machineryMust be able to work various shifts, days, and overtime as neededPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs.
