Job Description Segers Aero Corporation located in Fairhope, AL is hiring a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to work 2nd shift (four 10 hour days, Monday - Thursday from 2pm until 12pm with paid lunch). We offer a competitive benefits package, apply today to join our team!

Position Summary: To assist in the supervision of the 2nd shift production staff, maintain shop compliance, and to assign shop personnel to tasks as required to meet weekly and monthly goals set by managers, following company policies, SOPs and Repair Station Manual. This position reports to the First Shift Director of Operations and Production Managers. Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation)

  • Supervises shop employees, giving oral and written feedback regularly.
  • Listens to and addresses employee concerns to encourage a supportive atmosphere in the workplace. Confers with Production Manager as needed to help resolve complex employee and or department issues.
  • Assists Production Manager in completing employee reviews and documenting work performance.
  • Trains, coaches and develops employees as necessary to ensure production goals are met and proper procedures
  • Timely completes, approves, and adjusts time in the AeroTrac software on a daily basis.
  • Ensures diligent and accurate use of the production software system by shop personnel.
  • Fills in for and performs duties of Shop employees as necessary to meet the production schedule.
  • Performs maintenance on aircraft engines, accessories, and components in accordance with SAC Repair Station Manual, SAC Quality Manual, Customer SOP's, and applicable technical data.
  • Maintains and supports cost control efforts for labor and material to support facility/department financial goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring shop personnel adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains an average of 80% productivity while performing the duties of Lead Technician.
  • Attends Production Meetings as required.
  • Travels as required.
  • Confers with manager to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase efficiency of department and promote improvement.
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)

    • At least 18 years of age or older.

    • Must provide and maintain personal tool box in accordance with Segers' Tool Control Plan
    • Must be proficient in using a variety of hand tools, special tools, and GSE required to perform assigned maintenance tasks
    • Must be able to read and interpret SDS and Technical Data Sheets to safely mix paints in accordance with specifications
    • Must be able to use scales for mixing ratios
    • Must be able to work cooperatively with other leaders, co-workers, customers, and others and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Must be self-directed and action-oriented with the ability to work with minimal or no direct supervision
    • Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
    • Must be able to apply common sense.
    • Must be able to effectively read, write, speak and understand English language
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and the ability to learn other company specific software.
    • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs.
    • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE.
    • Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses.
    • Must be able to hear running machinery.
    • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
    • Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
    • Ability to travel to support the business needs
    • Demonstrated time, priority, and stress management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
    • Must regularly be able to reach overhead
    • Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and stand
    • Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
    • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions Experience and Education Requirements:
      • High School Diploma or GED required.
      • Three years supervisory/leadership experience working in maintenance on components in an MRO environment preferred.
      • Must pass criminal background check, DOT pre-employment drug screen, and comply with all applicable FAA required regulations.
      • Position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations. Subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulations (14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40).
      • A&P license or FAA Power Plant Rating preferred. Must strive to continuously develop skills and pursue training opportunities.
