Control Union is currently looking for support for our Alabama/Mississippi (Pascagoula) port. The position is a full time position and non-exempt. Responsibility of the Field Inspector (essential job tasks)Execution of vessel/barge draft surveysExecution of cargo surveysSuperintending Liquid cargoesSuperintending Bulk, Breakbulk and Containerized cargoesSampling and Sample preparation of Bulk CargoesConduct field testingPerform sample dispatch Description of the Responsibilities of the Field Inspector Liaison with personnel of CU offices/subcontractor / vessel agents / terminals for execution of ordersExecution of vessel/barge draft surveysExecution of cargo surveysSuperintending bulk cargoesSampling and Sample preparation of Bulk CargoesConduct field testingPerform sample dispatchAdvise Port Manager, office staff, and clients of the progress of the job Handling and recording of samplesCheck and verify documentation received from Control Union offices/subcontractors for accuracy Issue field reports and daily updatesEmail/fax/mail/courier to client or lab necessary documentation/samplesAssist Operations Manager or Technical Manager or General Manager in any miscellaneous duties Competency the Field Inspector should haveProficient in MSWord, MSOffice Excel, scanning, email functionsWorking knowledge of shipboard terminologyProficient in math Good communication skills Level of training the Field Inspector should come withMinimum - High school diplomaPreferred - Marine background On the job training to be initiated by CU Group Training Specialist or competent surveyor Requirements for the Field InspectorMust have a reliable transportationProof of US citizenship or Applicable Working VisaMust be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug testingMust be able to receive and maintain a TWIC cardTWIC card preferred, candidate can apply at time of hire Able to work independentlyMust be able to lift approximately 50lbsMust be able to work overtime as neededMust be able to climb and work at heights above 6 feet Must be able to work on holidays/weekendsMust be willing travel domestically and abroad Benefits13 paid federal holidaysPaid vacation and sick timeHealth insurance401K matching and FSAPaid overtimeTraining will be provided PI206360685
