Basic Function:

Processes outgoing release of information requests for patients, attorneys, insurances, and other doctors offices. Routes all incoming faxes to the correct departments and files processed faxes. Processes outgoing mail and applies the correct postage and tracking based on the request.

Duties Performed:

• 
  
• Works with supervisor to meet regulatory laws on records request timeframes
  
• Ensures sufficient postage is attached to the outgoing records
  
• Uses CD Burner to ensure records requested on CD are properly secured and sent based on regulatory laws.
  
• Routes all incoming faxes to the correct departments and files processed faxes.
  
  
  Work Contacts:
  
  Routine contacts with immediate associates. Frequent contact with employees in other departments for the exchange of information.
  
  Compensation: Competitive Hourly Rate with Paid Time Off
  
  Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-5pm

  Requirements:
  Minimum Requirements:
  
  
  • 
    
  • 1-2 years of Release of Information experience in a medical practice or office environment
    
  • Excellent Customer Service & Dispute Resolution.
    
  • EHR (Prognocis a plus)
    
  • Medical Terminology/Coding.
    
  • Insurance and Medicare
    
  • Use of postage meters, fax portals, and printers/scanners
    
  • Prioritize work and be detail oriented
    
  • Use listening skills
    
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
