to: Department Director Created: November 1, 2025 Job Summary The
Epic Ambulatory Project Manager is responsible for the planning,
implementation, and ongoing support of Epic Ambulatory applications
including Ambulatory, Bones (Orthopedics), Ophthalmology, MyChart,
and Healthy Planet . This role provides strategic and operational
leadership to ensure these applications are effectively deployed,
optimized, and aligned with the organization’s clinical,
operational, and population health goals. The Project Manager leads
project teams, manages resources, and coordinates closely with
clinical and operational stakeholders to deliver high-quality,
patient-centered technology solutions. Additionally, this role
oversees long-term planning, optimization initiatives, and the
onboarding of new providers or Community Connect partners as
applicable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project & Program
Management Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Epic
Ambulatory implementation, optimization, and upgrade projects.
Ensure alignment with organizational goals, scope, and
deliverables. Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between
Epic, clinical departments, and operational leadership. Identify
and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies. Manage
onboarding and integration projects for new clinics or Community
Connect partners. Application Oversight Provide strategic oversight
and operational support for Ambulatory, Bones (Orthopedics),
Ophthalmology, MyChart, and Healthy Planet applications. Ensure
application stability, security, and compliance with organizational
and regulatory standards. Oversee application upgrades, testing,
and change management processes. Collaborate with clinical leaders
to identify opportunities for workflow improvement and Epic
optimization. Monitor system performance, user adoption, and key
performance indicators (KPIs). Optimization & Long-Term Planning
Develop a multi-year roadmap for Epic Ambulatory systems and
associated modules. Partner with operational leaders to identify
and prioritize enhancement requests. Drive initiatives to improve
clinical efficiency, patient engagement, and population health
outcomes through Epic functionality. Support organizational goals
related to value-based care, quality reporting, and
interoperability via Healthy Planet. Team Leadership &
Collaboration Supervise and mentor Epic analysts and project
coordinators assigned to Ambulatory applications. Oversee resource
allocation and workload management to ensure project and support
needs are met. Collaborate with HR and Epic leadership on
recruitment, training, and performance management. Foster a culture
of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the
team. Stakeholder Engagement Serve as a liaison between Epic,
clinical departments, operational leadership, and external
partners. Facilitate communication and status reporting to
executive sponsors and governance committees. Partner with training
and change management teams to ensure successful adoption of new
workflows and features. Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare
Administration, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical
applications, or Epic project management. Epic certification
required in Ambulatory and preferred in one or more related modules
(MyChart, Healthy Planet, or specialty applications). Proven
experience managing complex Epic projects and cross-functional
teams. Familiarity with clinical workflows in outpatient or
specialty settings. Skills and Competencies Deep understanding of
hospital and professional billing workflows and regulations. Strong
project management skills (PMP or equivalent preferred) , including
scope definition, timeline management, risk/issue tracking, and
stakeholder engagement. Excellent verbal, written, and
interpersonal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively
with clinical leaders, Epic teams, vendors, and staff at all
levels. Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver results
in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Community Connect
framework and partner onboarding processes. Excellent project
management skills: defining scope, timelines, risk/issue
management, stakeholder engagement, cross-team coordination.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work
independently and as part of a cross-functional team Discretion and
ability to handle sensitive information Time management and ability
to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and
problem-solving abilities. Physical Requirements Primarily seated
at a computer onsite located at South Central Regional Medical
Center May involve sporadic evenings or weekend work (approximately
2-4 times per year) Occasional travel to partner sites will be
required. May involve occasional lifting of files or office
supplies (up to 15 lbs.) Frequent interaction with operational
staff and providers at both South Central Regional Medical
Center/Clinics and the Community Connect Partners. All candidates
