Job Description:
Full time-Benefits , Days with rotating call , 6:30a-3p Pay
Grade: 506 Posted 04/02/2021 POSITION SUMMARY Assumes
responsibility and accountability for the day to day functioning of
the cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgical service. Coordinates,
provides and evaluates care to a specific population of surgical
patients, and collaborates with the surgical team to meet the plan
of care. Provides professional pre-operative and post-operative
nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Functions
as circulating nurse (or scrub nurse/assistant with appropriate
training and documented competency) during surgical procedures.
Provides patient care in accordance with prescribed, delegated
medical regimen and hospital policies. Performs within scope of
practice as defined by the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an
accredited school of professional nursing, with current license to
practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Minimum of 3
years of cardiovascular surgical experience. --BCLS certification;
recertification required every two years. ACLS required within 3
months of hire; recertification required every 2 years.
