Type:HybridAerostructures is seeking to hire a Senior Manager of
NPI (New Product Introduction) Process Excellence, reporting
directly to the Associate Director of Program Integration and
Execution. This role is primarily responsible for driving
cross-functional collaboration and alignment in the development,
maturation, & integration of program management lifecycle tools and
processes used in the execution of programs at the product line
level for all Aerostructures portfolios. This role will serve as
the deputy to the Associate Director of Program Integration and
Execution and may support additional pursuits in support of the
portfolio.
- Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work
regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite
will be determined in partnership with your leader. Candidate must
live within a commuting distance to the Chula Vista, CA, Riverside,
CA, or Foley, AL Collins Aerospace facility.Primary
Responsibilities
- Serves as a key driver and collaborator in developing, maturing
, and integrating program management processes and tools across the
product lifecycles and as a focal for other IPT (integrated program
team) functions supporting this initiative
- Take the existing new product introduction & legacy management
process and tools and evolve them using lessons learned and recent
program experience to create an operating system that will be
utilized by program management teams to successfully execute
Aerostructures programs throughout their lifecycle
- Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with
cross-functional and cross-value stream IPT focals to link all
functional processes and tools into the program management
operating system
- Incorporate the APQP deliverables, Collins Management system
and existing tools, and the predictable program performance
initiatives to create a streamlined set of tools and processes for
the organization to operate
- Manages the matrixed organizations, serving as a conduit of
continuous process integration and risk and opportunity management
are addressed including participation as a risk and opportunity
subject matter expert in gate reviews and proposal efforts
- Exhibits the ability to remove barriers, developing creative
strategic solutions to resolve programmatic and/or operational
opportunities related to the development, execution, affordability,
product integrity, and on-time deliveries, spanning across the
entire range of the product life cycle
- Serves as a key stakeholder and ambassador of the updated
operating system and will indirectly lead other functional subject
matter experts
- Represent the Boeing, BizJet & advanced aircraft portfolio to
work on business solutions across the product lines and
businesses
- Supports the organization by way of developing/enhancing
strategic and tactical toolset
- Influence internal stakeholders for purposes of growth to the
business & development of program management operating system
- Support new business proposal activities for follow-on work in
addition to the primary role of refining the operating system.
- Apply the continuous improvement principles to validate &
enhance the operating system in an on-going basis
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% as
neededBasic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience
OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of
experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is
required
- Prior experience with program/project management, new product
introduction, and/or organizational redesign
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office, including Project
- Leadership in the implementation of a process improvement
program(s)
- Applied experience with Continuous Improvement in a
manufacturing environment
- Experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and
the associated toolset
- Aerospace, automotive , manufacturing, or product development
experience
- Experience directly or indirectly leading a team of
professionals
- Experience in leading and mentoring cross functional teams
- Applied experience managing both tactically and strategically,
preparing contingency plans and ensuring execution of plans
- Experience influencing others in significant change
adaptation
