Assistant Project Manager-Service
Department: Service Department
Reports To: Service Manager

Summary
This individual is responsible for all aspects of service projects with direct responsibility for project execution while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame with available resources. The position requires extensive knowledge of the HVAC service industry and may be responsible for developing and training employees under their supervision.

Job functions and duties (other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives.
Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, subcontractors and field support staff on consistent basis.
Examines and reviews contracts and estimates for accuracy and addresses discrepancies.
Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes.
Establishes fulfillment budget for assigned projects by revising original estimate based on validated project scope.
Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.
Responsible for project profitability by monitoring and controlling expenses.
Creates and makes revisions to project schedule.
Oversees equipment, materials, subcontractor and vendor orders, recording receipts and approving payment.
Receives and qualifies subcontractor proposals and supervises work of assigned staff.
Generates technician work orders, reviews progress and prioritizes tasks.
Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project, budget, progress and close out.
Supports sales function by assisting with quote preparation and proposal.
Responsible for project cash flow management, billing preparation, collections support and resource management.
Responsible for change orders by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing orders.
Ensures that quality standards are maintained for all projects.
Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions and communicating with customers and staff.
Establishes a professional relationship with customers, interfacing consistently to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
Obtains acceptance and timely sign off on the project by customer.
Some travel with occasional overnight stays.
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekend as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages subcontractors and other assigned project resources.
Plans assigns and directs work of staff.
Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees
Addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret service bulletins, technical procedure manuals and equipment specifications.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and other service personnel.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.

Valid driver's license

Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel.
