THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, KINESIOLOGY, AND SPORT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA invites applicants for a full-time tenure track academic appointment (9-month) in Exercise Science at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor starting August 15, 2019. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related discipline; ABDs near completion of the degree will be considered. All candidates should have demonstrated skills and/or experience in teaching, research, and service with the ideal candidate complementing our existing program and faculty and the ability to work effectively in a research team. At the rank of Associate, the successful candidate will also have demonstrated a consistent and ongoing record of scholarship, extramural funding research, and will have experience and skill in providing leadership that will advance research in the Exercise Science Program. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise science core to include exercise physiology, kinesiology and/or biomechanics, sport-conditioning in healthy, clinical, and/or athletic populations; conducting, publishing, and presenting research; providing academic advisement; supervising student internship experiences; participating in curriculum development; collaborating with faculty; and providing service to the Department, College, and University. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in studying adaptations to resistance or aerobic training and/or physical activity interventions using human subjects.
