Department Manager & Program Engineer SUPERVISES: Engineer III,
Engineer II, Engineer I, Designers and Draftspersons AUTHORITIES /
RESPONSIBILITIES: \n Responsible for overseeing Department Goals
for a specific project as directed by the Program Engineer and Sr
Department Manger \n \n Responsible for preparing, overseeing and
assigning design calculations and drawing development to support
Program Goals \n \n Responsible for checking calculations \n \n
Responsible for progressing all department work \n \n \n
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE: \n Minimum 7 plus years of
design and/or construction experience \n \n Excellent written and
oral communication skills \n \n Understanding of scheduling and an
ability to adhere to strict deadlines \n \n Experienced in
interacting with Production, multiple design teams from several
companies, customer representatives and equipment manufacturers \n
\n Computer literate and familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
products \n \n Thorough knowledge of ship and propulsion systems \n
\n Strong working knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities
(i.e. ABS, DNV, GL, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO, etc.) \n \n
Electrical/Controls Engineer: \n Successful completion of a
bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
engineering degree or minimum 10 years of equivalent marine design
experience \n \n Thorough knowledge of power distribution and
lighting systems \n \n Thorough knowledge of automation, control
and communication systems \n \n Strong working knowledge of IEEE
and NEC \n \n \n \n \n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n Experienced in
the construction of high-speed aluminum vessels preferred \n \n
Demonstrated knowledge of large modular construction methods
preferred \n \n Experienced in design and construction of US Navy
vessel preferred \n \n Demonstrated understanding of shock design
preferred \n \n \n TOOLS: Computer - MS Office, AutoCAD \n \n
DIRECTION EXERCISED: \n Will manage and direct the work of
Engineers Designers and Draftspersons \n \n Will determine
technical adequacy of drawings and calculations \n \n \n DISCRETION
EXERCISED: As directed by Sr. Department Manager and Program
Engineer \n \n \n Will provide input to evaluations of Engineers
Designers and Draftspersons \n \n Has authority to direct, evaluate
and correct the work of Engineers Designers and Draftspersons \n \n
\n LIAISES WITH: Engineers, Production Personnel, Customer,
Regulatory Bodies, Program Management and Equipment Suppliers
