highly visible, Senior Facilities Engineer position based in Mobile
Bay (Theodore, AL). The Senior Facility Engineer's primary purpose
is to facilitate safe and efficient operation of offshore
facilities with minimum down time. This professional will engineer
plans and monitor/manage/report on projects including: engineering,
procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and startup.
Responsibilities include monitoring operational KPIs (process
efficiencies, process volumes, downtime and maintenance costs) and
recommending projects and/or process changes to increase
efficiencies. Additionally, this role will monitor mechanical
integrity programs and work with chemical vendors, inspection teams
and other mechanical integrity pros to maintain adequate mechanical
integrity.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare AFEs for projects in their area. Track facilities AFE
costs and turn in AFE supplemental forms if project goes over
budget.
- Review and approve purchase orders and invoices for facilities
projects.
- Review daily construction reports on the active projects to
ensure projects are completed according to plans in a timely
manner.
- Troubleshoot issues with ongoing projects and resolve as
needed.
- Serve as liaison between operational teams: Production
Operations, Maintenance, Integrity Management, Marketing, HSE&R
and Management to report on status of projects and report
delays.
- Conduct site visits to facilities to support production
operations and evaluate facilities for upcoming projects.
- Prepare and approve safety and compliance drawings for
facilities and submit to regulatory agencies.
- Propose budgets on an annual basis for facilities in their
area.
- Manage a high volume of documentation respective to AFE changes
and heavy governmental/regulatory compliance
- Maintain oversight of vendors and outside consultants -
responsible for managing interactions and work
submittedQUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering;
Masters, PhD, and/or PE preferred
- Minimum of 10 years' offshore upstream or midstream O&G
industry experience
- Recent experience with E&P in GOM Deepwater & Shelf
including BSEE regulatory compliance
- Extensive surface and floating platform experience; subsea
experience is a plus but not our primary focus
- Hands-on experience reviewing drawings for all platforms,
safety systems, flow systems, electrical systems, etc.
- Knowledgeable of SEMS, OSHA, and BSEE regulations related to
process facilities
- Experienced setting goals (deadlines, budgets, etc.), tracking
performance vs. goals, analyzing performance and making adjustments
to improve performance
- Proven experience recognizing opportunities to implement
process and program improvements
- Extensive hands-on AE and Joint Interest experience.
Professional and clear communication in collaborating with
individuals at different levels of the organization, including
senior leadership, construction managers, maintenance, and
accounting/purchasing.
- Professionally represents the company when working with
suppliers, government agencies and other outside parties
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Preference of working in an environment where technical and
financial challenges will allow the employee to grow their
skills
- Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
(PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and MS Project
