The Controller will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles. The Controller will also be hands-on in building timely financial statements, GL preparation, financial reporting, audit preparation, forecasting financials, and working with senior leadership on long-term strategic financial initiatives.

Job Details

Responsibilities & Duties:
Partners in a leadership role in financial decision-making that affects the company as a whole, including the planning, implementation, managing and execution of all financial activities.
Partners in the overall accounting processes and develop/implement policies and procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the company.
Ensures full transparency over the financial performance of the company
Effectively and clearly communicates potential risks in a timely manner; implements corrective action plans as agreed with President
Oversees financial controls, accounting procedures and financial policies
Assures legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitors compliance with laws and regulations
Ensures prompt reconciliation and payment of Surplus Lines Taxes
Oversees annual operating budget
Monitors annual contract capacity and utilization
Updates and maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPI) real-time analytic tool
Participates/implements special projects as requested

Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of eight years of experience in senior financial managerial position and minimum of two years of experience in the Insurance industry
Advanced proficiency in Windows PC, Microsoft suite, general ledger, and full enterprise resource system
